Clement's has a long relationship with the Diocese of Koforidua-HO
in Ghana. Our former Interim Rector, The Rev'd Canon Robert W. Offerle,
CSSS, currently serves as Archbishop of West Africa's Commissary
in the United States.
The Church of the Province of West Africa is one of the fastest
growing provinces of the Anglican Communion. The catholic faith
is taught in all of its fullness and the churches are filled.
In Ghana, in particular, the church is growing so rapidly that
the country is likely to become an independent province of the
Anglican Communion in the near future.
This page contains basic overview information about the way that
the church in West Africa in general and in Ghana in particular
is growing in faith and improving the daily living conditions
of thousands of people.
A particularly urgent project at present is the completion of
a house for Archbishop Okine upon his retirement in December of
2003. Like many Africans educated in the U.S. and Europe, the
Archbishop could have turned his back on his country and made
a life for himself abroad. Instead, he accepted his calling to
serve others. As priest, seminary rector, and bishop he has given
of himself freely. Now he and his family need a home to call their
own.
If you would like to learn more about what you can do to help
Archbishop Okine and Anglicans in Ghana, please contact Fr. Offerle
